Reiki Symbols that Help in Reiki Healing: Explained for Beginners

Reiki healing involves the use of certain symbols that aid in the healing process. These symbols are all crucial to how the healing is distributed.

Reiki healing originates from Japan. Anyone who thinks that this practice comes from Tibet is misinformed.

This healing method was invented by Dr. Usui in the early 20th century. He used the laying on of hands which were introduced by Jesus, Hindus, Aborigines and others to form what we know of as Reiki Healing.

Reiki symbols represent certain aspects of Reiki, and they represent certain healing factors. These symbols are triggers that are used to set in motion a particular power which that symbol represents.

These symbols are known by many names, but in Japan, they’re not known by their Japanese names, but by numbers.

Symbol 1 is the power symbol. Choku-Rei as it is known by its Japanese name is synonymous for increasing the flow and the power of Ki or to build up power in the healer and the spot where the healing is to take place.

The emotional healing symbol, known in Japan as symbol 2, is used for emotional healing, and is also known as the love symbol. This symbol also represents God and man coming together. The Japanese word for this is, Amida Nyorai.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen or known as the distance symbol is mainly used for distance healing. This symbol is known as symbol 3 in Japan. It is used to give healings without the boundaries of space and time because this symbol helps to alleviate the limitations of space, distance and time.

Dai Kô Myo also known as the Master symbol or symbol 4 in Japan -  This is known as the healing symbol and helps to combine the power of the above 3 symbols on a subtle level. Reiki masters use it for attunements.

It is important to note that there are individuals who have distorted these symbols, and have come up with their own variations of the true symbols themselves. One must not confuse the more modern versions of these symbols as true symbols.

In order to become a Reiki practitioner, you must understand Reiki from its roots which are in Japan and not Tibet. Also you must realize that these symbols don’t have any real power in themselves, but represent certain aspects of Reiki that are used in local healing and distance healing. They’re just triggers used to focus with. So in order to properly administer Reiki healing, you must understand how these symbols are used, and when to use them
